Ivor Novello’s last silent picture, originally titled Fortune Hunter and renamed The Gallant Hussar (Der fesche Husar, 1928) was a charming love story set against a background of Hungarian military life. Made by Gainsborough in association with Fellner and Somlo it was filmed in Berlin with co-star Evelyn Holt and directed by Geza Von Bolvary.
